Starting C-5 of S-5

We are working on our reading logs in class-- you should have  finished the one from Chapter Four in class today and start reading Chapter Five tonight-- this is the longest chapter, so read about 20 pages in by Wednesday.
We had a reading quiz on Monday if you were absent.

Quiz Today: Read for Tomorrow

Wednesday: today we took our first reading quiz and assigned a reading portion based on our class assessment of reading speed. We miscalculated first period, so they will get a bit ahead-- that is fine!

Reading/Writing Pre-test

Last week we read some cool images and thought about what they might mean, and this week we are going to read some amazing essays by well-known authors to see what they have to say. We are also going to write our own essay-- yes!

There are a lot of steps in-between, but by Friday we will have the final draft of our original essay to turn in. Below are links to the documents we used in class-- for the sample essays themselves, you need to see me.  Thanks!
